Apr 15, 2019 at 17:12 | comment | added | 0xSheepdog | I agree that any new excerpt should contain a warning about req'd advanced skill-set, with links to Should I Use Kali? and maybe WIKSH as warnings.
Apr 15, 2019 at 17:10 | comment | added | 0xSheepdog | While I agree most new users won't see the Tag excerpt, I think we should update it and make it as relevant and helpful as possible. Then point it out to them if/when they are negative about downvotes and edit requests. Just because one won't read the EULA does not mean they are exempt. Same rule.
Apr 15, 2019 at 9:50 | comment | added | Kiwy | I tried years ago to imrpove the tag definition, I tend to think people don't care about definition and won't read it 99% of the time
Apr 13, 2019 at 22:54 | comment | added | Gilles 'SO- stop being evil' | By all means improve the tag excerpt, but keep in mind that at least 99% of askers won't see it or have any idea that they should be looking for it. Tag excerpts are pretty discreet.
Apr 13, 2019 at 20:16 | comment | added | Jeff Schaller Mod | My thought is to throw the whole excerpt out and replace it with some sort of warning. People who get to the tag already know what it is; we should provide site-specific guidance.
